Healy

Peak season now. Been a while on the Blog updates I know but its been busy with work and good times. Alaska is bustling with tourists of all varieties and they need rides. Anyways things are going very well. Only about seven weeks left of the season. We have been able to spend a lot of time exploring Denali this year which is awesome. Climbing mountains and getting paid. Can't beat that. Anyways... "lets make mount healy our bitch." says Ashley.

And thus begins our first attempt at Mt. Healy.
this view from the overlook.

A staple in any hiker's diet... PBJB. Healy beware.

So... It ended up being pretty cold and rainy as we gained elevation. The tables suddenly started to turn in Healy's advantage.

This little rocky peak almost marks the halfway point. The future was starting to darken.

This folks, is the pose of emotional anguish and embarrasment as the mountain takes it's place as our victor. The clouds moved in, the temperature dropped further and we had no choice but to crawl back to our shanty in shame.

as we descended further though it warmed up and I snapped one more photo

This creek at the trail head was still covered in ice.

So needless to say, attempt one was a failure. We were unprepared and Healy is unmerciful. We did however summit the mountain the next week, though sadly, camera-less. Trust me I know how that sounds.
